Hello, I wrote to you 2 weeks ago about my little girl 5+months being constipated and then changed her to lactogen1 formula which helped for a bit but now the constipation is back.

I do give her prune juice everyday diluted with water which sometimes help but sometimes after 2 days she still hasnt made a poo or when she does it is really hard and big as nuts so she really struggles to get it out and she needs some assistance from me. Also use a glyserine suppositry to help her. All in all she is not in discomfort only when she needs to eventually get the poo out.

On 12 November she would be 6 months. Should I start giving her some rice cereal? To add to her fibre everyday?

Should I just keep on giving the prune juice and hope it gets better?

No, you are going to have to do more that just give your baby prune juice. You can certainly start her on a rice cereal now. It would be best to try her on one more formula, Novalac IT. Novalac IT is a special formula for constipated babies. For the first 2 days alternate her feeds,Novalac IT then Lactogen1 and so on. After 2 days she should only be on the NovalacIT formula and stop the Lactogen1.
