my baby has not stool for four days now and his tummy is kinda hard. can he be constipated and if so what can i use for it? he is 6weeks old and i''m breastfeeding only. i was told that he is a bit colicky as he pulls up his legs ans archers his back but since he has not stool he is moaning and groaning whole day and its louder and worst now. i do also give him gripe water everyday

It is very unusual for babies of 6 weeks who are exclusively breast fed to be so constipated. Your son should be seen by a paediatrician. Try using an infant glycerine suppository once a day for two days to try to relieve your baby's constipation.

NewMum, I have always used either Laxette syrup in my baby''s morning bottle (it''s a natural thing and you can use it every day, get from your pharmacy) or you can buy the glyserine set pills from your pharmacy, for a quick fix! Don''t use those too often, the Laxette should however keep him regular, it defnitely worked for our baby!
