Hi doctor, my son is now 7 months old, he gets contipated now and again, with my daughter (4) duphalac worked wonders but the little man is lactose intollerant and duphalac contains lactose which gives him terrable wind and stomach cramps, What do you recommend for these babies?

The question really is why is your baby constipated?Part of the problem may be his formula. Is he on a soya formula because of his lactose intolerance? If so try him on a lactose free formula such as NAN LF, although these formulas may also cause some babies to be constipated. It will help your son to give him diluted fruit juice once daily and give him fruit and vegetables daily and fibre rich bbay cereal..Duphalac cannot be given to babies with lactose intolerance.I would prefer that you did not give any form of laxative but rather try the methods mentioned above.Read more on Google'babies with constipation'
