When i see her pushing, crying and then there is only a little tiny ball / or nothing i then give her (LAZETTE) i think that is the name. the 1st step she gets diarrea then goes to normall and then she is constipated again, I have come to the conclusion that i cant give her medicine anymore. You seem to be quite desperate about your daughter's constipation. Most worrying is the fact that she has been constipated since birth. I am sure that your have tried all the usual things to help her such as making sure that her diet is ideal and rich in fruit and fibre and that she has lots of fluids to drink including dilute fruit juice daily. You are having to give her Laxette all the time. She probably gets a bit of diarrhoea because she is so constipated and this is just the overflow loose stool which passes the constipated stool still in her bowel and is due to giving her the Laxette. She probably needs an enema or possibly even removal of the hard stools that is causing such severe constipation. She should be seen by a paediatrician. Please emphasise that she has been constipated since birth as certain inherited conditions need to be excluded.
