My babygirl is 18 months she had Pneumococcol Meningitus at 6 months but doing well. As a result of this she is now classified as a CP child. She only used to popo once every 2 weeks so the pediatrition put her Pegicol. But then she sometimes popo''s 5 times a day. (Red Cross tells me this is a problem with CP children the constipation). She had a modified beruim swallow so now that it is safe for her to swallow I am giving her half a teaspoon of rice cereal and she is now off Pediasure and on Nido 1+ for 2 weeks. Yesterday 4 times she tried to popo straining a lot and crying then everytime there is just a little round hard pellet. Even when I want to wipe her bum she cries. Could this be the pap or the milk. Nido is then for healthy tummies with probiotics. What should I do, please advise.
Thank you for your time.

This is a good question and you have given me much important information. It may well be the Nido which is aggravating your little girl's constipation.Try to increase her intake of fibre rich foods and fruit as I note that she can swallow normally now. Try her on Parmalat First Growth Milk instead of Nido and see if this makes adifference to her. Please let me know if you are still concerned about her.
