Q.

Constipation

My 16mnth old baby get heavily constipated, so bad that it bleeds. Is there anything we can do to help it soften and not be so painful. He is even retracting it now....

This is a very common problem. I presume that you have got your baby on a good mixed diet with plenty of fruit, fibre and fluids especially water and dilute fruit juice once daily.Do not give your son too much milk. He does not need more than 600ml per day now.You can try Duphalac 5ml in the morning for 10 to 14 days to try to break this cycle of constipation. If he does not improve he should be seen by a paediatrician as his constipation is quite severe.
