Q.

Constipation

Hallo Doc

I would like to find out what I can do for my 6 week old baby. I started giving him some formula in between breastmilk feeds. I am using Isomil, when he was on breastmilk alone he had poo diapers every feed. now since I gave him formula, which is only 1-3 bottles a day he hasn t had a poo diaper for 2 days now. Do I need to worry, I know sometimes a baby can go a few days without poo. I just dont know when its still okay ect. what can I give him to make his tummy go. I can see he is in pain.

Please help me, I really want to help him.

Thanking you in advance

It is almost certainly the soya formula that is causing your baby's constipation. Why is he on a soya formula? if you suspect that he may be allergic to cow's milk then try a formula such as NAN HA and see if he improves.

Give him one feed of breastmilk if you still have breast milk.
