Q.

constipation

my 2 year old has been passing very hard round stools for a few weesk now. There will be a whole lot of them in his nappy, it actually looks like hard little droppings. He eats quite healthily, eat apples &  raisins and other fruit every day, veg every day, but only carrots, peas, sweetcorn and potato are the only veg he will eat. I have been weakening his Isomil formula to wean him off his milk, is this a possible reason why his stools are so hard? he does one every day and does not struggle to pass them.
I have been giving him a teaspoon of Laxette every now and then since this began a few weeks back now, which seems to help.

It is possible that your son's constipation is aggravated by the soya formula. Try him off it completely for at least 3 days and see if there is any benefit. Substitute with any other fluid such as rooibos or diluted fruit juices and plenty of water. If there is no improvement it would be best to see your paediatrician.
