Q.

CONSTIPATED - BLOOD

My 17 month old baby girl is having problems to do her poofies. I took her to a GP and she gave me something to inject in her anus and it worked on that day, but she was fine for 2-3 days and now it has started again. When she nees to poof, she will lie down on the floor or sometimes cry, I noticed this morning that the poofie did not come out, but there was a spot of blood on her nappy. What can I do?

Paediatrician

It seems that your baby may have a small tear in her anus which is being aggravated by passing constipated stools. It would be best for her to be seen by a paediatrician. While you are waiting for an appointment use an infant glycerine suppository once daily.Do not do this for more than 5 days.
