Q.

constantly constipated

hi, my 20month old son suffers from contripation on a daily basis., eventually when he does poo, his stoole is rock hard, and this makes it difficult for him to pass and i feel sorry for him and sometimes gives him supositries to help him along. he''s eats well. water, fruit, yoghurt, cheese etc. what can we do to get him normal.

This question comes up very often.Your son must be a a diet where he drinks plenty of water, eats lots of fruit and eats fibre rich foods such as brown bread and Weetbix.He must not eat cheese of any kind. If he eats yoghurt it is best to make sure that it contains probiotic [good bacteria] cultures.He must not drink more than 2 cups of milk a day. If this does not help give him Duphalac liquid 5ml once daily for 2 weeks.
