Constant high fevers - 39 and up

HI Doc,

Need help please.

My daughter is 18 months old, and is constantly getting temps of between 39.4 and 40. Sometimes goes over 40.

She doesn' t cough, she eats, she drinks etc.

She has an allergy to milk and eggs so she is on a dairy and egg free diet.

She is 84cm tall and weighs 14.2 kg' s and the pead says he can' t find anything wrong with her.

We have tested her immune system, they have done full bloods on her, her infection count is always slighty up but the pead is not too worried about it.

He doesn' t know what the cause of the fevers are. Could it be teeth?

I dont know what to do anymore with regards to this?

Please help

There must be a reason for your little girl's fevers. This is not due to teething or to her allergies. Her fever is definitely significant and we must look for a cause. In little girls it is most important to exclude a possible urinary tract infection. If this is normal then further tests for unusual infections such as toxoplasmosis and brucellosis should be done to make sure that we are not missing anything that requires treatment.
