Constant Cold

Hi Doc

My 2 year old has had a cold on and off since she started school at the beginning of the year. Shes been on AB 2ce since the beginning of the year. She seems to have post nasal drip which turns into coughing. She only once had a fever. Is it true to believe that I can treat it myself unless their is a fever, ie it being viral and AB wont help?

Also is celestamine safe for everyday use? and Acc200 for the congestion?

She eats fine and is her normal self. Dont want to take her to the doctor every 5 minutes unless theres fever involved?

Can i use a humidifier for her postnasal drip. is it just a cold or is it worth taking her to the paed to do allergy tests etc? Is it just her system adjusting to school and germs?

She takes creche guard, zinplex junior and gummy vites everday

Thanks in Advance

Your little girl's immune system is probably adjusting to the various virus and bacterial infections she encounters every day when she attends her school. Do not use Celestamine which is a strong cortisone combined with a drowsy-making old fashioned antihistamine unless this is prescribed by a doctor for a particular illness. You can use Acc 200 to help her to clear mucous from her airways.Use a saline nasal spray twice daily to keep her nose clear and keep her on the Creche Guard daily. She does not need any additional vitamins in addition to the Creche Guard.
You do not need to take her to see a doctor as long as she is not obviously ill, she is able to drink her fluids every day, she eats without showing any signs of being short of breath and she sleeps well.
