Q.

Confident child

My 30 mnth older daughter clings to me all the time, when I' m at home (I work). When we go out she wants me to carry her all the time (does not want to be in the pram) and constantly asks me if we can go home. This is very frustrating for me, and I sometimes want to stay away from her just so that I can get a break. How do I help her to be more comfortable and confident in unfamiliar situations? Or is this just another phase in her development?

This is a temporary stage she is passing through with typical separation anxiety. It can be rather tiring for mothers. She does need regular reassurance that you are around and will definitely come home to her after work.
