He does not seem to be depressed, he is very playfull and loving around his family. He does great in school and interacts with others his age. He enjoys doing things with me and he loves to tell me that he loves me :-). Could this be that my son is holding back on feelings?

I feel that his eating is a problem, he eats sweets normally :-) I guess any kid would, but then again he doesnt get that much sweets from me, he needs to eat healthy, and I have been providing veggies and fruit for him, he has to have his veggies everyday.

He is very small, many people think he is 5 years old...Could this play a factor witht he amount of food he eats?

Also, he complains when he eats, eithe a headache, leg pains, toothache. ect could this be that he just doesnt like eating?

I hope this is not going to be a problem because he has always been a slow eater. Now that he is bigger, I expected him to eat normally.

Could it just be that he doesnt like eating ??

You are concerned about your son's very unusual eating habits. His eating pattern is not that of a 9 year old boy who should be eating well and with a hearty appetite. Although he seems to be happy when he is with you, how is he reacting to the fact that you and his mother are separated. He has the build of a 5 year old boy according to you. How do other boys his age treat him? Is he just pretending to be happy or is he being teased at school in spite of having a few friends? His odd complaints about headaches when eating or leg pains suggest a possible psychological cause. It would be best to ask a clinical psychologist to see your son. Even if the psychologist finds that all is well then at least we know that a possible psychological cause has been excluded.
