Q.

complains of a sore tummy

My daughter, 2.5 years old, has been complaining of a sore tummy for 2weeks now. Currently she has a bit of a cold or allergies I think. No snotty nose, just a funny deep cough, not consistent and her nose is irritating her but not runny at all. No fever, but she is a bit miserable at night. I don''t think its anything to be concerned about yet. But every morning and evening she complains about a sore tummy. Her bowel movements are fine. But her tummy makes terrible noises at night while she sleeps. Could her tummy ache be related to the start of chest or a upper respiratory infection? She has been hospitalised before for acute broncolitis and the symptoms are similar this time, but no fever. Response appreciated.

Your daughter's tummy ache could be caused by a post nasal drip with mucous being swallowed and irritating her stomach.Use Salex nose drops to clear her nose. If her cough persists she should be seen by her doctor.
