My first question to you is what are the levels and is he making any IgA and IgM at all or are these immunogluobulins completely absent? If he has some IgA and IgM in his body then this will improve with time possibly by the age of 10 years. I would not recommend intravenous gammaglobulin as it contains very low levels of IgA and IgM and will not solve the problem.Your son needs to have his immunity boosted through the winter months especially by using probiotics and also an immune booster such as Creche Guard.
