Colour in urine

Hi doctor,

I have a 4 month old baby boy. He was recently in hospital for bronchitis and in his urine on his napy there' s a orange almost powery substance, I' ve asked the peaditrician what it is and he said it is pigments/pigmentation in the urine. They did a urine test to see whether there' s blood in his urine, but it came out negative. What causes pigments/pigmentation in the urine, as the peaditrician said that you' ll often see it in newborn' s urine. My son' s appetite is not well, can this maybe the reason for the poor appetite. Otherwise, no fever or any other simptoms.

Thank you,

This colour in his urine may be due to something he is taking by mouth or be due to him not drinking enough. Is he on an antibiotic? Some antibiotics can cause this.
