Cold Feet

My nine year old daugter is complaining of cold feet. She puts on loads of socks but says its uncomfortable. They are cold when you feel them. What can this be. She was diagnosed a year ago with Severns Disease, but has never suffered this problem. Please advise

This complaint is not all uncommon in young girls. The cause is not always obvious, but stress is one recognised cause.Of course your daughter's symptoms seem quite severe and it is unusual to be so uncomfortable in summer. There are other conditions which should be excluded if her symptoms are so severe and these are the auto-immune conditions. Please ask your paediatrician to see her.

Thank you I will have it checked out but we have just moved and she has started at a new school and is a very nervous child, so it is probably due to stress.
