Q.

Cold

Hi Professor,

I think my 10 month old has a cold. He coughs, sneezes and has a runny nose, but no temperature. He still eats and drinks well.

I am giving him 2.5ml Mucospect 3 x daily and nose spray. Is this sufficient? His cough sounds quite bad and he has a lot of mucous rattling around in his throat. Should I change the Mucospect to some other type of cough mixture?

Thank you.

You are treating your baby's cold very well.Continue with the nose drops which should only be saline nose drops at his age. Also continue with the Mucospect which will help him to clear his chest of the mucous. His cough is the body's way of clearing the mucous from his chest so do not give him any cough mixtures to suppress his cough.
