Q.

coffee for a 3 year old

Hi Doc
Maybe its just me, i babysat my friends child, he is a very cute 3 year old. What i didn''t kow is he loves coffee, he has about 4 cups of coffee every day. I didn''t know this and he wanted coffee in the morning, and he got upset because i didn''t have the same coffee as he is used to :-(. Is coffee ok for someone that young? His sister, 20 months, is also into coffee and i was suprised and worried. I hope i worry for nothing

It is not a good idea to give a young child so much coffee or any coffee at all with its high caffeine content. Caffeine is a stimulant and should not be given to young children. The 3 year old already seems to be quite dependent on coffeee.
