Don't pull back the foreskin, there is no need to do so. Circumcisions are only performed for definite medical reasons.

Stephnie, the earlier in life the better. Get it done, dont bother with the foreskin issue. Unfortunately the Doc here preaches that its not medically necessary. By the time it may become medically necessary, you son will have had hassles like a tight foreskin or tearing of the foreskin which during sex can lead to a very great chance of attracting an STD, or even HIV. Do you want to expose your son to that?? Get it done and make sure the Doc uses an anesthetic when done. Its very safe and certainly has many, many benefits, including medical ones.
Good luck!
