Chronic ill 21 month old

Good day Dr. I''m at my wits end. My lg is 21 months old. She was very healthy as a baby, but since the start of the winter we visit the dr at least twice a month. We had Augmentin in July and another week of Augmentin in August. A week after we finished the treatment the symptoms ar back. Last week I took her to the Pead again and after taking a nose swap said we have Rino virus. So new treatment. Luckily not antibiotics. Her simptoms are a barking cough, runny nose and a yellow sticky discharge from her eyes. The eyes have cleared up. But the nose is still runny and the cough is still there. This morning she woke up with a fever of 39. She is very teary. Last night she complained about a sore tummy. I''m giving her scotts emulsion 5 ml a day and a probiotic extra. What must I do more? I also have the humidifier on every night with some karvol in her room. We have tried the pulmicort without any success.

It sounds as if your daughter has an RS virus infection. This does not respond to antibiotics. Is she at a creche? Keep her nose clear with Sterimar nasal spray twice daily and give her Mucospect syrup 5ml twice daily. It will take about 10 days before she is over this illness.
