Q.

Chicken Pox

Hi Doc,

Both of my daughters have had the optional Chicken Pox vaccination. Will this prevent them from picken up the virus? or is it a case of they will not get it as severe if they do pick it up?

Also, how long is the incubation period. My children played with a child on Sunday, and we found out this morning that this child has chicken pox.

Thanks for your time!

You do not mention the ages of your children and when the immunisations were given, but they should be protected against getting chicken pox.
