Q.

Chest infections

Hi Dr,
My 28mth old son has come down with a cold on Saturday. I''ve been giving him Coryx syrup to dry his runny / stuffy nose. He''s still very congested and I''m terrified it''ll go to his chest / lungs. ''
We''ve previously used Prelone syrup - 1/2 spoon 1x a day i.e. mornings. Can I use it again - will it be beneficial.
His mucous has turned slightly green and he''s still very congested.
Do I now need to see a dr for antibiotics as well?

Your urgent response will be appreciated.

You need to clear your son's nose.He seems to have an adenoid infection. Try using Salex nose drops or Sterimar children's nose spray twice daily. If his nose does not clear after 3 days he should be seen by a doctor.
