Cerelac and NAN HA

Hi Doc

Due to my baby having exzema. the clinic sister advised me to put my baby on NAN HA.

I did this from 6 months, when I stopped breatfeeding. I have been giving her Cerelax Rice cereal from 6 months as well.

I have now discovered , that Cerelac actually contains milk. Now, bearing in mind that my baby who is now 10 months, tolerates Cerelac Rice cereal, does this mean that she is in fact not allergic to milk, and that I could have been giving her regular NAN all this time?

Kind regards,

You were right to change to a low allergy formula like NAN HA when your baby developed eczema. It was not a good idea to give her a Cerelac cereal from 6 months as it contains milk. This needs to be stopped. You do not mention how old your bay is now and whether she still has eczema, but before trying to give her a regular cows milk formula such as NAN she should first be tested of cows milk allergy. If the test is negative she can continue on a regular cows milk formula.
