Can anxiety/stress cause fever in 4 year old

My son s 4yrs old, he was suffering from severe fever yesterday, there are no other symtoms of pain or flu or anything else...when i probed him about what is wrong he says the school is making him ill. He started at a new pre-school on Monday - he hasn''t cried or thrown tantrums - but he keeps saying that the school is making him ill? Is it possible for his anxiety to be causing the spike in his temperature.

Anxiety as such cannot cause your child to have a fever.Your son probably has an illness such as flu or some other infection.
