Q.

Burn wounds- will the skin grow back?

Hi there
My baby was burned by tea on wednesday &  his skin peeled off when his nanny took his shirt off. This is on the chest &  arm. WE took him to the ER &  was treated there ( bandaged in that burn wound dressing) &  we were told to return 24 hours later which we did. More dressing for 5 days ( we go back on tuesday). I didn' t take him &  hubby didn' t ask the doc anything.
What are the chances that his skin will " grow"  back? How long will it take &  will teh skin color be different or will it go back to his normal color? He is 14 months.
Your response will be appreciated.

Fortunately bad as a hot water burn is, the burn is not usually very deep. As a result the skin usually heals well again and with time the normal colour should also return.
