Childhood Diseases

Hi, my name Des. I have a three year old son, we discovered that he had eczema when he was only two months old. However, eczema has not troubled him that much. In the past two years, my son has been hospitalized four times due to bronchopneumonia and he is again hospitalized for the same disease. Is there any cure for this disease or is there a specialist in Pretoria that you could refer me to? What other measures can one take to prevent him from contracting this disease?

It is unusual for a child to have bronchopneumonia 4 times. You need to be sure that the diagnosis of these episodes of pneumonia is or was correct. Your son should be seen by a paediatrician with experience in paediatric pulmonology. The best person would be Prof Robin Green at the Department of Paediatrics at the Pretoria Academic Hospital.
