Q.

Breastmilk and formula

My newborn won''t latch so Im exspressing but can''t keep up with the feeds. Is it o.k.to feed fornmula for 2 of the 6 feeds? Also, how much expressed breastmilk is conciderred enough for a feed?

You should attend a breast feeding clinic for advice. In the meantime you need to give your baby the formula milk to complement your breast milk when you cannot express enough.Your baby needs about 50 to 60ml of expressed breast milk per feed at this stage if she is feeding 3 hourly.
