Q.

Breastfeeding and weaning

Dear Doc
My baby is 9 months old today and I am considering weaning him from breastfeeding. The reason for my decision is that he seems to have lost interest in breastfeeding and he bites me!
I breastfed my eldest until she was 10 months old, so I feel guilty for wanting to wean my youngest at 9 months.

In terms of the benefits to his health, will it make a huge difference if I start him on formula on 9 instead of 10 months?

You have done well and have already given your baby the necessary protection by breastfeeding for 9 months. As he does not seem to want to continue on the breast, you can start him on a formula now.
