Q.

Breastfeeding

My grandchild was born on Sunday morning early. Hy weight 3.49 kg and is healthy. He sleeps a lot and drinks only a little at a time. He did have a stool yesterday and is wetting his nappy. He is not crying for milk. How do my daughter know if he is drinking enough? He weight 3.1kg when they were discharged today.

It is normal for babies to lose some weight during the first week after birth and then start gaining weight.Your grandson will sleep a lot now. He will drink what he needs and wake when he is hungry.
