Q.

Boil

Hi doc
Another question, this time about my 2y10m old daughter. I suspect she''s developing a boil on her shoulder. She had one a few months ago &  it looks similar - like pimple and also tender to touch. What can I put on it, or shall I just leave it to run its course.
What causes boils &  how can I prevent it?
Thanks a mill!

Boils are caused by a bacterial infection known as staph. You can put some Betadine ointment on the boil and apply a plaster after that. Do this twice daily until the boil has gone. Boils are often spread in the bath. Clean the bath out well using diluted Jik and rinse the bath well afterwards.
