Q.

Blueish spots

Dear Doc

My daughter of 10 months has an area towards the top of the front nappy region (below tummy) where there are " blueish spots" . It looks almost like little veins that can be seen under the skin.

Should I be concerned?

Thank you.

These may simply be spots called blue spots which usually occur on the lower back of some babies. These spots are harmless and soon disappear by themselves. Your daughter's spots are on her lower part of her tummy and this is unusual. Also you say they look like veins under her skin. It would be best to ask the clinic nurse or your doctor to see her and to advise you about these spots.
