Blood Test - Allergies

Hi Dr
I have an 18 month little boy who has been having some trouble with eczema. He has had break outs since he was a few months old but it has always been very easy to keep it under control and clear the rash and it has never been a problem. This time round, the rash was very stubborn and I eventually took him to the paed who prescribed some cortisone/antihistamin cream which has worked wonders. The paed recommended that I take him for allergy tests which I wanted to do this week but over the weekend he came down with a cold. I would like to find out if taking him while he is sick and on medication will effect the result. I am giving him Demazin for the itchy/blocked nose and salex but I am worried that the antihistamin in Demazin will effect the test results?
Thank you for your response.

It would be best for your son to be off an antihistamine when the allergy tests are done. You have excellent allergists in Durban.
