blood constituent of parents

hey there dr.

hope u can enlighten me. my mother in law constantly makes the statement that my daughter and i are not the same blood- that MY baby who i carried is one blood with her father, fathers sisters, his parents etc and i am of different blood cos i come from another family- how true is that??? is beginning to annoy me and i would like to give her the facts the next time she starts that. sorry to trouble ya

Half of your baby's genes come from you and the other half from her father. His sister has absolutely nothing to do with your baby's genetic make-up. The father's parents have an indirect involvement through their son being your baby's father but no direct input at all. Take no notice of your mother in law's remarks.
