Blocked tear ducts.

Hi Doc

My little boy has had blocked tear ducts since he was 2 weeks old... the right eye has cleared however his left eye is still sticky and his nearly 7 months...

I' ve been massaging the duct, used saline with cotton wool, breastmilk with cotton wool (this seems to make it worse) and just warm water with cotton wool to wipe is eye... nothing seems to work... the Dr and pharmacist refuse to give me anything and say his too young and that it will go away on it' s own and that i should just continue with the massage and breastmilk etc.

This is really frustrating because my little boy is so tired of having his eye wiped all the time and screams when he sees mummy coming with a piece of cotton wool... it also tends to get worse when he sleeps or cries and has continous green/yellow discharge. Please help what can i do to clear his eye once and for all???

You need to take your baby to be seen by an eye specialist now.Ask your paediatrician for the name of a specialist in your area. His blocked tear ducts are not improving after using the usual simple measures.
