Q.

Blocked nose

Hi Doc
My son is 3 years old, and its been about 2 months now that when he sleeps his nose is blocked, he struggles to breathe properly, and this is only at nightand when he wakes up in the morning, he doesnt have a running nose or any cough, so Im not sure why his nose is blocked all the time.Is there anything that I can give him.thanx

You need to find out why your son has a persistent blocked nose. He may have a problem called allergic rhinitis which is a persistent nasal allergy. He should be tested for allergies and then started on the correct avoidance measures as well as the correct treatment. Blocked noses in this age group cause a lot of sleep disturbance and lead to poor concentration in the mornings especially.
