Paediatrician

If his nose is so blocked he probably has a bad cold at present and the cold virus has caused some bleeding of his nose. Provided that the bleeding is only very slight and not severe, all you need to do is to use Salex nose drops two to three times a day to keep his nose clear and allow the mucous membrane to heal.If he does not appear to have a cold, the most common cause of nose bleeds and a blocked nose in this age group is something that the child has pushed into the nostril such as a bead or similar small object. In this case only one nostril is usually affected. If you think this may be the cause please take him to see your paediatrician.
If the bleeding is severe you also need to take him to see your paediatrician and a full blood count should be done.
