Q.

Black specks

Perhaps a silly question. I have just started my little one on solids. I was told that banana is one of the best things to start out with. I did so and noticed that every day she has black dots in her stool. It only started when she ate banana. Banana did NOT cause constipation or any other issues.

Bananas are known to sometimes cause these tiny black spots in some infant's stools. Stop giving your baby any banana. In any case the best fruits to start your baby on are apples and pear. If the black spots continue to occur once you are no longer giving her any banana this may be due to slight bleeding in your baby's intestines.Only if this does happen with your baby daughter do you need to ask your paediatrician to see her.
