Childhood Diseases

Good day.
My Lg is 17 months and at school there is a boy that is biting everyone.(another story on its own). Since this weekend she started to "  play"  bite me and DH. I told her no and flicked her on her cheek if she does it. I'  ve also seen that she starts biting her forearm and hand. What I would like to know is anyone else child doing it? How do I treat the biting? Should I take her to be evaluated by a OT? Might it be from frustration? She is otherwise a very happy and healthy child.

When a child at school bites it is a big problem and source of concern for the other children who are really frightened by this behaviour. This child should not be allowed to attend the school. Your little girl is now trying to copy the biter at her school. This behaviour must be firmly dealt with but do not hit her as this will only increase the problem. When she tries to bite you tell her in a firm clear voice to:'STOP DOING THAT!" If she continues take her straight to her room and close the door. She may then start crying and performing. Only let her out when she is completely quiet. Do this each and every time she tries to bite you or her Dad.
