Q.

Bed wetting

My 6.5 year old has suddenly started wetting the bed. She has never wet the bed before, even through the potty training transition. She started school this year. I have questioned her subtly to see if there is an underlying reason for this sudden bedwetting, but besides hyperactive behaviour (since birth), she seems to be happy and settled in all aspects of her life. Should I just ride this phase out or should I dig deeper to see if there is an underlying cause? Thanks.

It is always unusual for a child of this age to suddenly start bedwetting. There is often a psychological reason for this. However it is important to rule out a bladder infection first, so her urine needs to be tested for possible infection first.
