Q.

Bad breath

Last week i stopped breastfeeding my 16 months old daughter and now has a bad breath, and i realised she is now breathing with her mouth espetially at night, what could be the problem? and what must give her? she drinks infacare 200ml x 3 and rooibos 175x2 day she only takes water once at night. Thanks

As you realise, babies of this age should not have bad breath. The usual cause is mouth breathing due to a blocked nose or tonsil infection. Often the cause of the blocked nose is infected adenoids. Try clearing her nose using only Salex nasal drops twice daily for 10 days. If her nose does not clear it is best to take her to see an ENT specialist.
