Q.

Baby''s weight at 4 months

Hi,

Please tell me if this is something to be concerned about: My baby girl is 4 months old today and last week with her vaccinations when she was weighed, she weighed 5.6kg. Her older brother weighed 6.7kg at 4 months.

I breastfeed her and she seems happy and healthy? She sleeps through and lasts 3 to 4 hours inbetween every feed.

Our check up is next week.

Thank you

The average weight for a baby girl of 4 months is 6.3kg. Your baby's weight falls on the 10th percentile line for baby girls of 4 months. This means that her weight is in the lowest 10% for baby girls of her age.She seems to be happy and healthy and is being breastfed. She may simply be following a family pattern, so there is no need for concern.
