Q.

baby''s sore bottom

Hi Doc

my son is 10 months ols and seems to have a bad case of nappy rash which is even bleeding, he even cries when he has to pass a stool which isfirm. I have tried nystatin as well as zinc &  castor ointment but nothing seems to help. His diet consists of sweet potatoe,potatoes,carrots butternut,apples &  pears.

please help

It is unusual for a baby's nappy rash not to respond to this treatment.This also rules out candida as the likely cause. Change your baby's nappies to another brand. Apply Antipeol nappy cream to his nappy rash. Give him a probiotic for 10 days such as Reuterina infant drops 5 drops per day. Also start him on a zinc supplement such as Zinplex every day.
