GP cut off baby''s navel cord @ 9 weeks. How long does it take the stub to dry after its cut?

It will take anywhere from 10 to 21 days for your baby's umbilical cord stump to dry out and heal. Keep the top edge of his/her nappy away from the stump by folding the top slightly over so it does not touch the stump. Clean the umbilical stump twice daily with a small amount of rubbing alcohol using a cotton wool swab. Ask your pharmacy for this alcohol.
