Q.

baby''s chapped lips

My son is 12 months and when he wakes up in the morning his lips are always dry and chapped, with dry blood. Is there a medication that he should be taking or is there an ointment that I can use for that?

The question to ask is why has your baby got such dry chapped lips? Is he mouth breathing all the time? If his nose is blocked you should try to open it up by using Salex noe drops twice a day. It is surprisingly difficult to treat dry chapped and bleeding lips in a young child. You can try zinc cream applied twice a day. It will also help to give him Zinplex syrup as a zinc supplement will speed up healing.
