baby waking up at night

Hi doc
My little one started waking up at night since last week. the times differ but he seems unhappy and wont go back to sleep unless he had a bottle. it looks like he is actually hungry as he completes the entire 200ml of milk. I however dont want to get him into the routine of asking for a feed during the night. What do you suggest?
He does have a heavy supper. He has supper at 5:30 and then 180ml of milk at 7pm before he goes to sleep
Please advice? He also gets up crying and is unsettled to go back to sleep on his own and only quitens down when I hold him.

You do not mention your baby's age. He should not be hungry as he is getting plenty to eat and drink before bedtime. His waking up has been going on for only 1 week.He may be teething or there may be some other reason for this new pattern of waking. Once established this pattern of waking for an extra feed [and a cuddle] is going to be difficult to break.
