Q.

baby tantrums

My son of 20 months gets very upset if he can not have his way .
What worries me is that he will start bumping his head against something , mostly the floor . He does this so hard that it breaks the skin . Otherwise he is a very nice intelligent baby . Could you please advise me ?

Your little son is having quite bad tantrums. Tantrums are common at this age. You need to be firm with him. When he starts with a tantrum tell him to stop in a clear firm voice. If he does not listen take him to his room immediately and close the door. Do not let him out until he is quiet. Do this every time he starts with a tantrum and he will soon stop with this behaviour.
