Baby scares too easy

My baby is 4 months and is becoming much more aware of her surroundings, including noises. If she hears something that scares her (unfamiliar voice or any loud sudden talking), her bottom lip will start to quiver and soon after she is screaming bloody murder. And it takes awhile to calm her, at least 15 - 30mins. She also wakes up for any sounds in the house, a toilet flushing, door opening or closing. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do?

Many babies have very sensitive hearing, almost super sensitive hearing. There is nothing that you can do about your baby having such sensitive hearing at this stage, except to try to keep loud noises to a minimum.Babies with this sensitive hearing certainly do not like the noise of vacuum cleaners in particular Usually sensitve hearing becomes less of a problem once your baby gets older especially by about the age of about 2 years.

hi Jo, my boy is 14weeks and he does the same, he started this when he was 2 months old, he even scared of back color, pointing objects and shinny/silver things including a mirror. i dont know what to do, I told my pediatrician about it, he was just amazed. But he said nothing about it. So am just hoping he will get over it soon.

its a puzzle
