Baby Rush

Dear Doctor

My babe is 18 mnths old and has been suffering from rush all over her body since birth. We consulted a paidtrician who prescibed that we bath her with aquoes cream(pure) and apply advanta cream after.

I have been doing that but the rush will only heal for a while and appear again worse than before. Now it has turned out to be so bad that when she does no1 &  2 her bum burns badly.I took her for consultation and was given topivan and the other cream to apply together.

Now a friend just adviced that maybe i should consider changing her formula from Lactogen to ISOMIL 3.Do you think this will work? I was breastfeeding her until she turned 18months then i stopped her.

What you need first is a proper diagnosis of your baby's rash. She appears to have severe eczema but I cannot be sure without being able to see her. She must be seen by a paediatrician or dermatologist so that she can be properly diagnosed and treated. It will not help to change to a soya formula at this stage. In the meantime use a good moisturiser such as Epimax after bathing your little girl.
